Wetherby supply three types of render that lends itself perfectly to being scratched / scraped to provide an open textured surface.
Wetherby Scratch Render is a traditional through coloured render which offers a cost effective and very popular textured finish.
Wetherby Scratch Render
Scratch Render is a cementitious render that incorporates silicone technology, which gives a higher degree of water repellence to the render surface than traditional sand and cement render, yet still allows water vapour to pass through the render and let the substrate breathe. Scratch Render is through coloured with the finish displaying an attractive open texture after being scratched back when almost set.
A smoother texture can also be achieved by the use of a wooden float, plastic trowel or sponge. Scratch Render can be used on full elevations or can be used together with any of the other Wetherby finishes, such as dry dash, brick effect render or brick slip. Ashlar detailing can also be achieved utilising this product.
Scratch Render is used extensively throughout the UK and Ireland, eliminates the need for external painting and is very easily maintained.
