The government declined funding for the re-build of this Malborough school until 2016-2019 however as it is owned by the governors they decided to go it alone and after much fund raising, struggles against opposition for planning permission the school was eventually built.

It was  designed to maximise natural light, exploit views over the surrounding downland and forests and feel like a community campus rather than a conventional school.

The school has a theatre built to professional standards with seating for 450, an amphitheatre, floor-to-ceiling windows and purpose built science and music rooms.

The specifier required a durable render finish which was to be coloured black in the main areas with vibrant coloured panels.

Wetherby Insulated Render System was the perfect choice, the 70mm phenolic insulation gave a low U-value of 0.28W/m²K whilst the dry dash and silicone finishes both offer exceptional weatherproofing properties with the bright silicone colours being UV stable.

The finished school is a striking series of vibrantly coloured modern buildings that the governors are extremely proud of.
