Wetherby Helps Steer Pilot Scheme into Energy Efficiency

By: Rachael Doyle   •   February 8, 2013

The Tonbridge and Malling area has over 7000 properties managed by social landlord, Russet Homes.

Over 600 of these are Wimpy No-fines properties which give extremely poor thermal performance and residents have found their homes hard to heat and prone to condensation problems. With this in mind a pilot scheme was commissioned to insulate 39 of the properties to see just how effective external wall insulation could be.

Construction consultants Baily Garner specifically selected Wetherby Building Systems after detailed evaluations of a number of external wall insulation (EWI) systems. Wetherby played a considerable role in preparing specifications and U value

Kirklees BISF Properties undergo massive transformation

By: Rachael Doyle   •   February 8, 2013

Kirklees BISF Properties

Wetherby Building Systems Ltd has taken on some sensational new schemes which will ultimately help to reduce negative environmental impact.

These Kirklees properties are of a post-war prefabricated steel framed structure, produced by the British Iron and Steel Federation. The temporary homes were constructed in the 1950’s are still standing securely today, but lacked adequate insulation. The properties were not only unattractive, but are also extremely difficult to heat due to the poor thermal properties of the structure.

This was something Wetherby successfully overcame with one of their external wall insulation (EWI) systems. The collaboration with Kirklees Council and contractors

Demolition Avoided With Wetherby Refurbishment

By: Rachael Doyle   •   January 25, 2013

Gascoyne Estate, Hackney is home to four 10-storey tower blocks managed by Hackney Homes in east London. These blocks were constructed in the 1960’s where little or no attention was paid to thermal insulation. This rendered the flats cold, damp and costly to keep warm.

Now thanks to Wetherby Building Systems Ltd, the UK market leader in the manufacture and distribution of insulated render systems, the thermally inefficient tower blocks have been transformed into modern, insulated, energy efficient homes. New external wall insulation installed by Renocon Ltd, along with other energy efficiency measures, have significantly brought down the
