Wetherby achieve PAS 2030:2012 accreditation

Wetherby are delighted to announce their recent certification to PAS 2030:2012 which officially deems them an accredited Green Deal & ECO Installer.

The British Board of Agrement (BBA), an official UKAS accredited body providing Green Deal certification, carried out a thorough audit of Wetherby’s management systems and also attended sites applying the Wetherby External Wall Insulation System at different stages, to assess the application methods.

Demolition Avoided With Wetherby Refurbishment

Gascoyne Estate, Hackney is home to four 10-storey tower blocks managed by Hackney Homes in east London. These blocks were constructed in the 1960’s where little or no attention was paid to thermal insulation. This rendered the flats cold, damp and costly to keep warm.

Planning permission rules relaxed on EWI to help boost Green Deal

The Government announced the decision to relax planning rules for solid wall insulation yesterday in a move to encourage the take up of the Green Deal.

Energy minister Greg Barker and his department agreed a clarification to planning rules with colleagues in the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), which will mean that the majority of solid wall insulation installations will not require planning permission.

Wetherby Wanderers reach new summits!

Many congratulations to the Wetherby Wanderers who managed to survive their recent Three Peaks climb, practically unscathed. John, Paul, Anthony, Terry and Vicki conquered the summits of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon (a total over 3400 meters) with a road trip of over 500 miles in between, in just over 24 hours.

They managed to raise just over a staggering £3,000 for Action Medical Research , a charity that relies entirely on donations to fund a range of research projects that address serious childhood conditions and improves the quality of life for children with a range of disabilities.

DECC release new energy conservation guidance for LA’s

The Department of Energy & Climate Change have released new guidance which is hoped will help local authorities in England improve the energy efficiency of their residential housing.

Doncaster high rise flats receive a makeover

Doncaster tenants and residents have seen their new look flats unveiled and this week it was the turn of Mayor of Doncaster Peter Davies and Doncaster MP Rosie Winterton to see for themselves the improvements made.

The flats in the town centre and Intake have received a £4.66 million makeover – not only giving them a new look but also making them more energy efficient.
