Wetherby Systems Now Covered Under Energy Saving Recommended Scheme

Wetherby Building Systems would like to remind people that their External Wall Insulation systems are accredited by the Energy Saving Recommended Scheme.

The criteria for qualification is set by an independent panel and reviewed annually. In addition the Energy Saving Trust test a percentage of products approved by the scheme so that the consumer can rest assured that ‘where there’s a logo, there’s a smarter choice!’.

The idea is that whatever the product, which ever the labelling system – all you need to do is look for the Energy Saving Recommended logo.

Wetherby scoop award for recycling & waste management initiative!

Scooping the category of ‘Best Waste Management Initiative in the Commercial and Public Sector’, the award was presented in recognition of the work undertaken by the partnership to deliver zero waste to landfill on a 206 property CESP (Community Energy Savings Programme) project for Dudley Council. The project was a group collaboration between Wetherby Building Systems, E-On, Kingspan Insulation and Entec UK and proved to be a resounding success.

Wetherby EWI Pilots the First UK SWIGA Scheme

SWIGA (Solid Wall Insulation Guarantee Agency) was established to offer householders an independent, uniform and dependable guarantee, covering professionally installed external, internal or hybrid solid wall insulation solutions to ALL hard to treat properties not just solid wall properties.

Wetherby Building Systems Ltd Win NIA Award for Design & Innovation

The challenge was to create a new external insulation system incorporating next generation insulation materials, Vacuum Insulation Panels, to be used as the basis of a renovation solution for old, solid wall properties. The key aim was to reduce the thermal transmittance and provide an improved U-value without the need to install 150mm+ of insulation and thereby eradicating the inherent problems applying these thicknesses can create on existing structures.

The original solution was for the existing walls to be externally clad with 25mm thick Vacuum Insulation Panels topped with 40mm phenolic insulation. However this created the problem as to how the insulation system would be

Wetherby joins forces with E.ON

January 2010 – the flagship project commenced. This was a 100 day challenge to apply EWI to 100 properties in 100 days at sites in Birmingham, Luton and Manchester.

Following on from the success of the 100 day challenge E.ON and Wetherby now have projects running in Dudley, Leicester and Kidderminster with a host of other large scale CESP schemes in the pipeline.
