Wetherby Responds to BBC Report on Homes Overheating

Wetherby Building Systems, a leading provider of external wall insulation systems, has hit back at BBC reports published yesterday that warned of overheating in homes insulated under Green Deal, as simply untrue.

Energy Saving Measures in Kirkby

Wetherby is proud to have managed one of the biggest private housing regeneration projects under the Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP) scheme.

The £15.5m scheme, initiated by Wetherby, has now seen more than 2,000 homes in Kirkby, Merseyside installed with energy saving measures including EWI, loft insulation and economic boilers to provide private homeowners with significant reductions to their energy

Project managers, Wetherby worked alongside Knowsley Council in order to fulfil the programme, with funding derived from a variety of energy companies.

Success at GreenBuild

Last month (8th May 2013) saw Wetherby staggered by the interest from visitors at the Greenbuild Expo, one of the biggest sustainable building events in the UK.

Exhibiting for the third year, the Wetherby stand was constantly three people deep, with the team not only responding to enquiries for new projects, but also discussing partnerships with funding providers, installers and training providers.

The UK’s newest sustainable building and refurbishment exhibition, the Greenbuild Expo is an essential event for those in the construction industry, offering an insight into all aspects of sustainable building from training opportunities and renewable technologies

Quashing the rumours!

In recent months, the external wall insulation industry has experienced an extraordinary growth spurt and since Wetherby have been early adopters of governmental schemes such as CERT, CESP and now Green Deal and ECO, they are consequently showing a significant level of business growth, with their market share having increased dramatically over the past 12 months.

Success stories however, do not come without rumour and speculation. Due to Wetherby’s unrivalled success, senior members of the team seem to be continually defending rumours that the company has been sold and has become part of a major utility / PLC.

Wetherby expansion plans well underway!

Due to the market leader’s continued success within the EWI arena, there will be a few changes taking place over the next couple of months which will see some of Wetherby Building System’s key departments relocated from their North West HQ to new premises in Haydock. Additional space is being created at their HQ in Golborne, Greater Manchester in preparation for the additional demand on resources that the GreenDeal and ECO will undoubtedly generate.

Anne-Marie Armstrong and the marketing / sales support team have already completed the move and are fully operational. A purpose built training school is currently undergoing construction and the training team and sample production will follow closely behind sometime in

Wetherby Attend 5th ‘Sustain’ Awards

Wetherby Building Systems Ltd were recently shortlisted at the fifth annual sustain’ Magazine Awards 2013.

The Sustain’ Magazine Awards celebrated standout achievements and successes in the field of Construction Sustainability. The ceremony was held on Tuesday 5th March at the Guoman Hotel overlooking the River Thames and Tower Bridge in London.

While their project ‘The Kirkby CESP Programme’ unfortunately didn’t quite clinch the prize in the refurbishment category, it went on to receive a significant amount of praise and admiration from compare Alastair McGowan as well as fellow judges and attendees on the night.

Wetherby joins forces on Kirkby regeneration scheme

Kirkby following Solid Wall Insulation

Over 1670 privately owned homes in Kirkby have had External Wall Insulation installed as the primary energy saving measure, thanks to Wetherby Building Systems.

In partnership with Knowsley Council, the Kirkby Phase 1 project proved to be the largest private homeowner scheme in the UK and was funded via the energy companies as part of the Community Energy Savings Programme (CESP) initiative. As part of the CESP scheme, homeowners were also eligible to qualify for further energy saving measures. Wetherby Building Systems’ BISF project for Kirklees Council has been shortlisted in the ‘Sustainability’ category of the CCIWY Awards 2013, organised by the Chartered Institute of Building and Little Spark Big Creative.

Wetherby are also proud to sponsor the ‘Corporate Responsibility’ category for the awards.

The prestigious event is a celebration of standout achievement in the industry. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Friday 8th March 2013 at The Royal Armouries, Leeds.

 

 


Wherry Energy Efficient!

Wetherby Building Systems Ltd, the UK market leader in external wall insulation has collaborated with Wherry Housing Association and Anglian Building Products to give the Norwich area a thermal makeover.

Wherry Housing Association is part of the Circle Housing Group who manage more than 63,000 properties across the UK. They had planned to bring some life into the 1930’s solid wall properties, which were hard to heat and costly to run. Thanks to Wetherby’s external wall insulation (EWI) system, residents now have warm affordable homes.
