‘BASF Wall Systems’ acquired by Rockwool

It was announced late last week that BASF has sold its German subsidiary for wall systems to ROCKWOOL. This acquisition includes the Heck® brand, which comprises an external wall insulation render product that Wetherby Building Systems Ltd supplies as WBS Silicone.

Wetherby is currently the sole distributor of Heck® systems in the UK and this deal does not affect the agreement. Supply of products under the Heck® brand will continue as normal and customers will retain the high levels of service they have come to expect from Wetherby Building Systems.

NIA release statement on Benefits of SWI

Following the publication of an unhelpful article by the BBC on overheating and Green Deal, the National Insulation Association have issued a press release in conjunction with the Energy Saving Trust and Age UK.

The release is designed to counter the BBC report, focussing on the very positive benefits of insulation and the inclusion of EST and Age UK provides a degree of impartiality and greater credibility.

Latest Green Deal / ECO Statistics Released

DECC have today released the latest Green Deal  / ECO statistics. Green Deal figures are to the end of June whereas ECO is to the end of May.

A  few key points to note:

–          Of the 3,461 GreenDeal cash back measures installed to date, 99% are boilers with only 18 insulation measures.

–          Under ECO:

  39,034 Cavity Wall Insulation to date, up 12,198 on last month – annual run rate 94k   57,457 Loft Insulation to date, up 12,051 on last month – annual run rate 138kk   3,094 Solid Wall Insulation to date up 1,529 on last

Wetherby’s EpsiTherm Passes BBA Tests!

Wetherby Building Systems is one of the first EWI system manufacturers to gain BBA (British Board of Agrément) approval for grey polystyrene insulation.

EpsiTherm, a graphite enhanced EPS insulation board, is supplied by Wetherby as a main component of their Epsicon and Epsiwall external wall insulation (EWI) systems , which can both be used on new build and refurbishment projects. The product has undergone rigorous testing and has surpassed all requirements set by the BBA and ETAG 004.

Wetherby celebrates ARBED win!

Wetherby has been commissioned to supply EWI on over 1400 properties across Mid & North Wales as part of The Arbed 2 scheme, a £45 million project funded jointly by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Welsh Government.

The project aims to improve the energy efficiency of over 5,000 social and privately owned homes in Wales. Wetherby’s involvement in the regeneration of 1400 of these homes will see homeowners benefitting from energy saving initiatives, such as EWI, boiler upgrades and loft insulation. Wetherby Responds to BBC Report on Homes Overheating

Wetherby Building Systems, a leading provider of external wall insulation systems, has hit back at BBC reports published yesterday that warned of overheating in homes insulated under Green Deal, as simply untrue.
