Wetherby Warms Up With INCA Award Wins

Wetherby Building Systems Ltd, the UK market leader in the manufacture and distribution of insulated render systems, is celebrating carrying off three awards at the Insulated Render and Cladding Association (INCA) 2012 Awards.

The Awards, which took place on 3rd October, recognise the UK’s most successful external wall insulation projects. Wetherby was proud to win the Domestic Refurbishment Low Rise (six or more houses) and Domestic New Build of the Year categories, as well as the prestigious Project of the Year award.

Wetherby Wanderers reach new summits!

Many congratulations to the Wetherby Wanderers who managed to survive their recent Three Peaks climb, practically unscathed. John, Paul, Anthony, Terry and Vicki conquered the summits of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon (a total over 3400 meters) with a road trip of over 500 miles in between, in just over 24 hours.

They managed to raise just over a staggering £3,000 for Action Medical Research , a charity that relies entirely on donations to fund a range of research projects that address serious childhood conditions and improves the quality of life for children with a range of disabilities.

DECC release new energy conservation guidance for LA’s

The Department of Energy & Climate Change have released new guidance which is hoped will help local authorities in England improve the energy efficiency of their residential housing.

Energy and Climate Change Minister Greg Barker said: “Local authorities have a vital role to play in improving the energy efficiency of residential homes in their areas, and helping us meet our ambitious energy targets”. “This new robust guidance will support and encourage all local authorities to realise the significant benefits of upgrading homes. Doncaster high rise flats receive a makeover

Doncaster tenants and residents have seen their new look flats unveiled and this week it was the turn of Mayor of Doncaster Peter Davies and Doncaster MP Rosie Winterton to see for themselves the improvements made.

The flats in the town centre and Intake have received a £4.66 million makeover – not only giving them a new look but also making them more energy efficient.

Wetherby 5-a-side team reach the final!

Wetherby 5-A-Side Team 13-07-12

After the success of last year’s 5-a-side football tournament, the Balfour Beatty site team at Brownhills Academy organised another charity football tournament which took place on Friday 13th July, 2pm-6pm, at Redgate Clayton Football Club.

Employees from Wetherby’s sales and technical department jumped at the chance to be involved, being that the proceeds from the tournament were being donated to the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice, which provides a range of specialist care and support services for children with a shortened life expectancy and their families, from their purpose-built house in Trentham, Stoke-on-Trent.

Energy boost for hundreds of city homes

CESP Scheme - Stoke on Trent May 2012

Warmer homes and lower fuel bills are on the way for more than 260 households in Stoke-on-Trent – the latest to benefit from a multi-million pound energy-saving initiative involving the city council, EDF Energy and Kier Stoke.

Some 208 city council and 55 privately-owned properties in Townsend and Chell Heath are due to be fitted with external wall insulation by the winter.

The cost of the work, approaching £10,000 per property, will be paid for by EDF Energy as part of their commitment to the Government’s Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP). The scheme aims to reduce CO2 emissions from homes in areas

Wetherby Three Peaks Challenge

Staff from Wetherby Building Systems and their key suppliers will be taking on the Three Peaks Challenge 2012 this weekend, tackling the three highest mountain peaks in Scotland, England and Wales.

Covering themselves in Gortex (and whatever other waterproof fabric they can get hold of, by the looks of things), John, Paul, Anthony, Terry and Vicki will be attempting to conquer the summits of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon (a total over 3400 meters) with a road trip of over 500 miles in between, in less than 24 hours from start to finish.

Wetherby achive preferred supplier status with Merlin

Following a thorough evaluation process, Wetherby have been successful in attaining ‘Preferred Supplier’ status with one of the South’s leading social housing providers – Merlin Housing Society.

Merlin are the largest provider of social housing in South Gloucestershire, managing a stock of around 8,300 homes. Almost 1,400 of these properties are of non-traditional PRC construction which suffer from damp, mould and are notoriously hard to heat.
