EPSITEC
Developed excusively by WBS, the EPSITEC
system has been designed to satisfy the need for an insulated
render system, incorporating
a drainage cavity,
for use with lightweight steel or timber frame construction.
This exciting and innovative technique offers many advantages
compared to traditional masonry methods, including increased
speed in construction and also allows internal contractors
to commence earlier in the building programme, resulting in
reduced build time and associated cost savings.
Lightweight steel and timber frame structures are dimensionally
accurate, extremely robust and can be assembled in a matter
of weeks using factory production methods.

Once the framework has been assembled, and has been clad with
a high quality, external weather-grade building board (such
as BluClad), the board joints are then sealed, leaving the
substrate effectively weather tight and ready to receive the
Epsitec system.
Following NHBC Guidelines, the Epsitec System has been designed
to incorporate a drainage
cavity between the
board and the system allowing any moisture to naturally drain
away via drainage deflector beads eliminating potential saturation.
Intumescent strips
are also positioned at every floor level and party wall to
help control the spread of flame in a fire situation.
In addition, the systems allows for a wide range of insulants
of varying thicknesses to be used to help meet or exceed current
building regulations and U-value requirements and provide
an efficient, cost effective system suitable for low, medium
and high rise construction.
The system is finally completed via the use of a wide selection
of coatings and textures, which gives the completed project
a hard-wearing, attractive, weatherproof finish.
